Commerce City, CO - Capital Projects
Home CapitalCore City and Irondale Infrastructure Improvements
About the Projects
The city is investing nearly $10 million from the 2019 budget to improve roads, sidewalks and drainage facilities in the core city and the Irondale neighborhood. Some of those funds will also go toward land acquisition, right-of-way purchases, pavement design, and a local drainage implementation study. The city is repairing and repaving numerous street segments in these areas, building (or acquiring right-of-way for) more than two miles of new sidewalks to fill existing gaps, and adding/repairing curbs and other concrete elements along some roadways. Engineering design work for a few prominent future roadway projects is also included, along with drainage improvements to help reduce the potential for flooding on properties and streets.
