Post Date:01/17/2017
Closures and detours continue throughout project

Highway 2 will have multiple single lane daytime closures and full lane nighttime closures beginning Jan. 16.

Jan. 16-20, Daytime closures, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.: Various single lanes will be closed on Highway 2 between E. 96th and E. 104th avenues for temporary pavement grading. Flaggers are present, remember to drive safe.

Jan. 17-21, nighttime closures, 9 p.m.-5 a.m.: All lanes will be closed on Highway 2 between E. 88th and E. 96th avenues for underground piping installation. Southbound drivers should follow the detour by turning right onto E. 96th Avenue, left onto Heinz Way and left onto Yosemite Street. Northbound drivers should follow the detour by turning left onto Yosemite Street, right onto Heinz Way and right onto E.96th Avenue. Signs will direct traffic.

Off-peak and night closures are used to aid in commuter and worker safety by completing construction when traffic is minimal. Construction schedules are subject to change and are weather dependent. For timely updates and further information, call 303-C3-WORKS or visit www.c3gov.com/QCL.

Future detours and closures on Highway 2 are likely until the project completes in 2018. The widening project includes expansion of Highway 2 from two to four lanes between E. 72nd Avenue and Interstate 76 to provide a higher level of service, improve safety, increase vehicle capacity, and accommodate pedestrians, bicyclists and vehicles.
